Exis Technologies shortlisted for two North East, UK Business Awards 2022

Exis Technologies, a global leader in IT solutions for the management of dangerous goods by sea, based in Darlington, UK has been shortlisted for two North East Business Awards 2022, UK, in the Innovation and Technology and Small Business categories. The awards are an annual celebration of successful and innovative businesses in the North East of England.

The shortlists for both awards include three companies based in the Teesside region of the North East of England. The winners will be announced at a Teesside Business Awards ceremony on 23 June 2022. If successful, Exis will then go on to the judging for the Grand Final for the North East region to take place on 29 September, where the overall winners for each category will be announced.

The Innovation and Technology Award identifies and rewards companies which have launched the most innovative new product/service or who may have built or embraced new technology to drive their company forward in 2021. The Exis entry is based on the cargo screening tool, Hazcheck Detect, used by three top ten container lines, Maersk, ONE and Hapag Lloyd. Hazcheck Detect screens approximately 15 million cargo requests monthly, identifying on average approximately 30,000 suspicious cases with between 500-1,000 potential risks a day. This prevents 40-50 high risk containers per week being loaded onto vessels. The numbers are growing as more lines adopt the tool.

The Small Business Award, is for companies with no more than 50 full time staff with a proven record of success in business performance, potential for growth and commitment and imagination in the company’s products and how they are differentiated from their competitors’ products. Exis is currently celebrating 35 years of innovative global solutions for compliance, efficiency and safety in the shipment of dangerous goods by sea in line with their mission of Safety of Life and Cargo at Sea.
