Product Overview

NCB offers this practical and thorough self-study course in fishing vessel stability. The course curriculum has been evaluated at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters by the Marine Technical and Hazardous Materials division, the Merchant Vessel Personnel Division, and the Department of Transportation by the U.S. Maritime Administration.

Some of the material in the course is complicated, but has been included for completeness. As a result, some of the concepts may not be easily understood by students with no background in stability. While a thorough understanding may be beneficial, it is not necessary for the purposes of this course.

Anyone who satisfactorily completes the course is considered to have gained two weeks sea service credit (deck or engineering) toward a U.S. Merchant Mariner’s Document or License.
