Exis produces IMDG Code 40-20 Summary of Changes

Exis Technologies is now NCB Hazcheck, part of NCB. This article was published under our former name.

IMO held the Maritime Safety Committee, 102nd session (MSC 102) from 4-11 November 2020 when it adopted Amendments to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) Amendment 40-20.

The Amendment 40-20 edition of the IMDG Code may be used on an optional basis from 1 January 2021 until it becomes mandatory on June 1 2022. During this extended transitional period Amendment 39-18 can continue to be used. See the Amendment cycle here.

Exis has produced a summary of the changes being introduced in Amendment 40-20 of the IMDG Code.  We have also produced a more detailed summary of the changes (a 9 page PDF document). Both summaries can be downloaded here
