ADR/IMDG Code Interface Course

Homee-LearningADR/IMDG Code Interface Course

Product Overview

This course is designed for students who are already familiar with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and want to extend their knowledge to include road transport regulations when shipping dangerous goods as part of a combined road/ sea journey.

Developed to complement existing IMDG Code training, this course bridges the gap between sea and road operations by introducing the key requirements of the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).

By completing this course, students will gain an understanding of:

  • The legal framework for ADR and its relationship with the IMDG Code.
  • The layout of ADR, its general provisions, and the amendment procedure.
  • Additional ADR requirements for road journeys, including documentation, transport unit and loading provisions, safety equipment, and exemptions.

This focused training highlights the additional requirements arising from ADR when IMDG Code-compliant dangerous goods loads and cargo transport units (CTUs) are moved by road prior to or following a sea journey under ADR.

Please note: This is not a stand-alone ADR training course and does not cover all requirements for the carriage of dangerous goods by road – if this is required please see the ADR Standard Course. Instead, it highlights the additional ADR provisions that apply when IMDG Code-compliant dangerous goods loads and cargo transport units (CTUs) are moved by road, either before or after a sea journey.

The course features a built-in assessment. Upon successful completion, participants are awarded a course completion certificate.
