Introduction to the CTU Code Course

This course is designed for anyone involved in packing cargo into freight containers and other Cargo Transport Units (CTUs). It introduces the IMO/ILO/UNECE Code of Practice for Packing of Cargo Transport Units (CTU Code) and demonstrates how its guidance applies directly to day-to-day operations in the field.

By taking this course, you’ll gain a clear understanding of:

• The purpose and development of the CTU Code
• How it promotes safe, secure packing practices to reduce accidents, cargo damage, and supply chain delays
• The regulatory status of the Code and how it may be enforced
• The structure and content of the CTU Code, including what is covered in each chapter, annex, and section of the Informative Material
• How to access and navigate the CTU Code online

Throughout the course, you’ll find useful links to relevant parts of the CTU Code, either within the main content or in the reference bar at the bottom of the page.

At the end, there’s an assessment to check your understanding, and upon successful completion you’ll receive a certificate of completion.
