Irish Continental Group (ICG) is a leading shipping, transport and leisure group. They carry passengers and cars, Roll On Roll Off freight and container Lift On Lift Off freight, on routes between Ireland, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. They also operate container terminals in the ports of Dublin and Belfast.
The Group operates through two divisions: the Ferries Division comprising Irish Ferries and ship chartering activities, and the Container & Terminal Division. Irish Ferries is the leading ferry operator to and from the Republic of Ireland. They operate five modern ferries on international routes between Ireland and the UK and between Ireland and France. The principal revenue streams are passenger revenue (travelling with or without vehicles), Ro-Ro freight, on board and ancillary sales.
Irish Ferries are long standing customers, purchasing their first system in 2005. They use Hazcheck to check their dangerous goods bookings before they are loaded onto their ferries to ensure that the vessels will comply with the IMDG Code regulations. “We have been using Hazcheck since 2005, moving from Hazcheck Professional to Hazcheck Enterprise in 2016 as we required additional functionality as the company grew. Recently we embarked on a company-wide training program with customised IMDG Code e-learning courses. Exis is a valuable partner, ensuring that we are up to date with the latest regulations, and working with us to develop customised solutions when required.”
IMDG Code e-learning is a cost-effective online training tool for all shore side staff involved in the handling and transport of dangerous goods by sea. It gives high quality training that complies with both the general awareness and function specific training requirements in the IMDG Code.
